Management of the physical and digital photographic collection of photographer Caroline Lima, encompassing the organization, cleaning, and structuring of her documentary sets. The physical collection, composed mainly of negatives, underwent cleaning and storage procedures in appropriate materials, aiming at its stability and long-term preservation.
In the digital realm, a systematic organization of the archives was implemented, structured to ensure accessibility, navigability, and efficiency in information retrieval. The controlled vocabulary was developed based on the specific characteristics of the collection, aligning terminology and structure with the characteristics of the material and the demands of its use.
As a guiding tool, a visual map of the collection was created, enabling an integrated understanding of the documentary sets and facilitating their location. Mirroring was established between the organizational structures of the physical and digital collections, in order to guarantee the correspondence between the negatives and their digital equivalents, ensuring the integration and cross-referencing of information between the media.
The set of actions ensures the organization, preservation, and functionality of the collection, enhancing its potential for use in both commercial and artistic fields.
